On Tuesday, January 6, 2026 we will celebrate the Feast of the Epiphany with a Service of Light and Fire at 7 PM in the Nativity Chapel.
We celebrate the coming of Jesus not just on Christmas Day, but for a “Christmas Season” that lasts for twelve days after Christmas and ends on January 6, the Feast of the Epiphany. On that day we celebrate the revealing of Christ to the world in the visit of the Magi who followed the light to find and honor Jesus.
The service begins with the burning of Christmas greens to kindle a fire that banishes cold and darkness, just as the arrival of the Christ-light does in our lives, followed by a Eucharist focused on Jesus as the light coming into the world.
Another ancient tradition associated with the Epiphany is the marking of doorways for blessing and protection throughout the new year. Our service ends with blessing chalk to take home to mark our own doorways.
Join us to light up the darkness in community.
