Compline is an end of day service that dates back to monastic forms of worship. During Advent, the season in which we mark the waning sunlight and growing winter and look forward to the new light brought to us in Jesus at Christmas, this Compline service features readings and psalms that speak of God's coming salvation and the peace it will bring. Chant, incense, candlelight, and silence all make this a sensory experience that helps us to slow down, catch our breath, and remember our deep desire for God's restoration and healing.
