Community Conversation on Corrections

Come join Nebraska's Inspector General of Corrections, Doug Koebernick, and the Episcopal Diocese of Nebraska's Balancing the Scales of Justice for a conversation about Nebraska's correctional system. Following Doug's presentation, participants will have the opportunity to hear from a panel of nonprofits, service organizations, and ministries that serve returning citizens and currently incarcerated Nebraskans. The event will take place in the cathedral nave, and live on our Trinity Cathedral YouTube Channel.

Doug is the first Inspector General for Corrections for the State of Nebraska. He was appointed to the position for a five year term by the Nebraska Legislature in September 2015 and reappointed to a second five year term in September 2020. Prior to the appointment, Doug worked as a Legislative Aide in the Nebraska Legislature for 18 years, working for four different state senators. His areas of specialization during that time included juvenile justice, developmental disabilities, and criminal justice. He also staffed a number of committees and task forces including the Developmental Disabilities Special Investigative Committee and the Department of Correctional Services Special Investigative Committee. 

A light reception will follow this event. Masks are recommended for all, and they are required for non-vaccinated participants.
