Stephen Ministry is a program of training and organizing lay persons for caring one-on-one ministry in and around their congregations.
Stephen Ministers have 50 hours of training in and commit to two years of service; they are trained in how to share God's love with those who are hurting from all sorts of crises and problems in life. More than just the clergy of the cathedral can be Christian caregivers!
If you are hurting and are in need of Christian caregiving, a Stephen Minister might be a good resource. Stephen Ministry is not just about learning how to be a good caregiver; we can all learn how to be better care-receivers.
We have a team of three Stephen Ministers led by Deacon Ellen Ross, who can be contacted at 342-7010 X 112. If you would like information about becoming a Stephen Minister or about receiving a visit from a Stephen Minister, give her a call! |
